Male pelvis rule 8 : Varicoceles

-A varicocele  means distension of the pampiniform venous plexus due to incompetent valves of the spermatic veins.
-Standing position of the patient or valsalva maneuver may increase the venous distension seen in varicoceles.
-95% are left sided, and are the most common cause of male infertility.
-In case of varicocele, vein diameter should exceeding 2 mm in diameter.
-Ultrasound demonstrate multiple, serpiginous anechoic spaces of similar sizes, and Doppler shows venous flow within these spaces.
-MRI reveals multiple serpentine vessels in the scrotum.

Ultrasound image revealed serpiginous tubular structures in relation to spinal cord.

Color flow is seen within this tubular serpentine structures.
